Some sketches, the first one was made in April I think, it was an attempt at creating some sort of spaceship captain. The other two are more recent.
These were all made for Helios' stories but I think I'll put the rightmost guy somewhere in Sky Canyon.

Clockwise from top let are a space criminals' grunt, a character that will soon appear in a short comic I'm making for a zine, a very important character in Neighbourhood Of Infinity and an alien creature appearing in N.O.I. again.

Tomorrow I have an exhibition opening and then I'm starting to work on two big projects, one is the remaining part of N.O.I. and the other one is a very cool and big collaboration, I think we'll share more details about it sometime soon, but I'm very excited about it. So stay tuned!

This is the first page of my new comic.
The first eight pages will be premiered at an exhibition, that's why the subtitle is in Italian.
The first part focuses on Gutta, the female protagonist and her troubled journey to reunite with her lover Tarla.

I still have to add speech bubbles and maybe adjust some things then it's done.
As usual I colored it all with Copics and Poscas.

Detrocboi booklet #2: Neighbourhood Of Infinity.

This time it won't be short comics but a whole story and some illustrations, hopefully out by the end of the year.

By the way, sorry for the prolonged absence of new posts on here, between the month in London and the load of work I got when I came back I really haven't the time to write much.

Hey!

I'm back from London, got back a little earlier than expected because I've a lot to do in here for the next couple of months.
I'll be working on new comics, one for a zine, one for a magazine and another one will be presented at an exhibition in September and will then appear on Detrocboi Booklet #2.
London was amazing, I had a great time, met new friends and talked with publishers, a really positive experience.

Expect some more updates, sketchbook scans and anything else in the coming days, right now I'm working on a schedule for all the things I gotta make. Talk soon.

Yes, she has two brains drawn over her ass, Perfumed Metal always aims for the head.

Her name comes from Chrome's song

Lila is the mechanical expert for the Monitors, Helios' agency.

Her name comes from Neu!'s amazing song.

Gorio Granfalloon

Gorio's a bodyguard for the Palace mobsters' boss and sort of Helios' nemesis.
This is his common appearance, his alien race's power allows him to mutate shape in certain cases.

The surname comes from Vonnegut's Cat Cradle, Granfalloon is a group of people who unite for a meaningless purpose.

I wanted to create a mix of elegant and strange clothing, he's supposed to be a weird character and I think his clothing reflects it. Went a little rougher for this one.

The blood in the orb will tell if she's a witch or not.

Had this one in the drawer for maybe more than a year; so I decided to adjust and complete it before starting to do anything else. Maybe I rushed a little bit, I'm not entirely happy with the results, although I really like the redhead's clothing. I think it may be resurrected once again in a while, maybe work a whole different way through it.

Helios Creed

Here's a design development drawing for the protagonist in my upcoming science fiction comic.

Helios is part of a group of private agents, working borderline cases that cross the boundary between reality and supernatural events.

The name comes from Chrome's genius guitar player, the next bunch of comics have lots of homages to bands I like and are a constant soundtrack, and inspiration, when I draw.

Virtua Mondo

Since she got great success here's a full figure drawing of Virtua Mondo, double crossing spy.

I retouched as little as I could from the first sketch I made of her; my first inspiration came from Roni Fugate from P.K. Dick's The Three Stigmata Of Palmer Eldritch.
I had fun designing her clothes; I drew inspirations from modern clothing, Star Wars, a little bit from Jojo's Bizarre Adventures and added some subtle ethnic elements.

So now she's definitely in the comic. =)

Here are some sketches of characters for my new sci-fi comic, since I don't know if they'll make their way to the comic I'm posting them here.
The first one on the left is a villain inspired by Kirby's ones he has no name so I'm calling him Kirbo.
The curly girl is Virtua Mondo, I like her a lot thus she may be redesigned a little bit and make it as a double crossing agent and a love interest for the main character.
Last one is some sort of warlock/counsellor for the enemy mob.

I'll start working on a new short comic these days, it's a story that's been sitting in my drawer for a while and I want to pick it up before focusing on the sci-fi comic, so updates soon.

First page off Heroism Potion, a short black and white comic made last summer.

I'm working on a new comic for an upcoming magazine so I'm pretty busy with it. It's a sci-fi story set in a more futuristic ZZZ age. I'm pretty excited about it since it's going to be my first longer comic.
As soon as I can find some more spare time I'll be making some new illustrations that have been floating in my mind for a while.
